Watchmen Joke Ruined with Inconsistency

In anticipation of the new Watchmen movie, Chris Sims did a post where he hand-drew a new ending for the story. This joke would have been funny, except for one critical error that Chris made. See if you can spot the error in the post.

Once again, Chris Sims fails to make obvious joke

On this post, Chris Sims made the joke that a lot of Silver Age comics have titles that sound like they should involve sex, but don't. Of course, when making a joke like that, you absolutely need to reference this:

Seriously, how do you make a joke about sexual puns in comics without referencing Giant-Size Man-Thing? It doesn't make any sense to me. Even if he was only limiting himself to Silver Age comics, there is nothing funnier than Giant-Size Man-Thing. I even carry my own copy of this comic around with me wherever I go, so that at a moment's notice I can stop strangers and ask them, "Do you want to see my giant-size man-thing?" Then I whip out the comic, much to their astonishment. Oh man, I love doing that.
